"There has to be some way!" A strangly frustrated Sonic exclaimed. The 'gang' consisting of him, Amy, Tails, Cream (Cheese of course), Blaze and Silver, had been debating for the last hour on a Project Love Connection. Yet none of them had come to a conclusion, and Sonic was getting restless. What is Project Love Connection you ask? It's a challange Amy came up with that everyone (Except Shadow who didn't really care about stuff like this) would work together to 'connect' a couple who truly belongs. She started with just the girls, and soon ended up with the guys help (Mostly after Project Love Connection worked so well on them.)

This weeks challange? Knuckles and Rouge.

Neither of them even knew Project: Love Connection existed. So unlike Amy with Sonic, or Blaze with Silver, Rouge had no idea what was going on. Making it just a bit harder to complete. But they were determind to find a way.

Everyone was silent as each thought of a way to bring the couple together. When suddenly the most unexpected person came up with an idea. "Guys... I have an Idea!" Tails exclaimed. Everyone came closer and he whispered the plan in their ear, reveiving a cocky  grin from Sonic. "Tails you're a genius!"

"So Tonight?" Tails asked looking extremly pleased with himself.

"Yes, Tonight." Amy confirmed, and they continued preparing for the big night.

Angel Island was as peaceful as ever. The red echidna guardian was surprised that no one had come to bug him. He had at least 2 a day, but today... everything seemed quiet. Too quiet. So quiet, that the echidna was growing suspicious. Where were Sonic and Tails?

Suddenly he heard a familier plane motor overhead, and he watched as the X-Tornado landed beside the Alter. "Knuckles!" Tails yelled jumping out from the plane.

"What is it?"

"Amy is hosting a dinner at her house tonight at 7:00 at her house. Would you join us?"

Knuckles was about to say no, but then Tails bombarded him with the puppy... err... fox eyes of doom. "Alright I'll come."

Tails jumped into the air in a cheer. "See ya then!" he flew into his plane and took off, leaving a slightly stunned Knuckles behind.

"Ms. Rouge!" A high pitched voice that could be recognized from across the world filled Rouge's house.

"Cream?" The white bat walked into the Living Room to see a cream colored bunny and her chao Cheese.

"Ms. Rouge." Cream smiled. "Will you please join Ms. Amy and us for a dinner at her house tonight?"

Now how could anyone say no to a cute little bunny? So of course Rouge aggred.

"Wow, that was easier than expected." Sonic said when Tails and Cream delivered the news. "Phase one Complete, now to work on Phase Two." He glanced over at Tails, who glanced over at Silver, who glanced over at Amy, who rolled her eyes and started explaining the plan.

Rouge arrived first. She sighed and pulled her wings close. "This should be interesting." She thought as she knocked on the door.

"Hello Rouge!" Amy greeted her. "Come on in! We're waiting for one more guest." The bat nodded and slipped off her shoes while Amy closed the door softly behind her.

Just as planned, Knuckles arrived seconds later. "You invited Knucklehead?" Rouge said with a slight hint of playfullness.

"You invited bat girl?" Knuckles said, slipping off his shoes.

"I hope you don't mind." Amy said.

"No not at all." The two said in perfect unison, making both of them blush.

"Well, go on into the kitchen. Sonic and everyone is waiting." The two nodded and walked in, and rather clumsily bumping into each other, which led to an even bigger blush on both of their faces.

But of course the Dinning room made both of their faces as red as Knuckles himself

It wasn't set for 6, It was set for two. In the center were three candles that dimly lit the room up.

"Bonjour. (I hope that's right but I don't speak french.)"  said an obvious fake sounding french accent. Rouge gasped a bit as she was picked up and in seconds setting one of the chairs. And it was so fast, that before she regained her composure, Knuckles was seated too. looking just as dumbfounded as her. "What would the Madmosille like tonight." The 'waiter' (Which was just Sonic with a strange fake mustache and an old butler outfit.) asked Rouge.

"umm." Rouge was unsure of how to answer, but figuring this was all a game, said "How about some... i don't know... wine?"

"I'm sorry Madmosille, we could only get Grape Soda considering the oldest of us is only 15." Sonic answered with a grin.

"Fine, Grape Soda will do." She sighed.

"Me too." Knuckles said quietly. Sonic reappered with two glass so fast neither of them even saw he was gone.

"There you go. Your dinner is being cooked right now. Enjoy." Sonic dissappered, leaving the couple in rather stunned silence.

A few minutes of awkward silence, Sonic reappered with Steak, Rice a Roni, and Mixed Vegtables. "Enjoy." Once again he dissappered before either could thank him.

Finally Rouge spoke. "Did you plan this Knuckles."

"What?" Knuckles looked up in surprise. "I thought you did."

"Me?" Rouge turned her head toward the kitchen just in time to see a group of people duck behind the counter. Rouge stood. "Well, I don't have time for this."

"Rouge wait..." Knuckles stood and grabbed her wrist.

"So you did plan this!" She turned pointing her finger accusingly at the echidna.

"No Rouge I swear."

"Oh sure Knuckles. I mean..." But she was cut short when she felt a sudden push on her back and she fell foreward, taking Knuckles down with her, like miniture Dominos.

Both of their faces were beet red again. Their faces had landed just inches apart. Rouge stared in wonder as the faint candlelight made Knuckles' fur glow a brilliant red and orange. "Knuckles..." She breathed.

The echidna was just as stunned as she was. But now... He had never really gotten a good look at Rouge. And he had to admit, she was beautiful. Her eyes starring into his. "Rouge... I..."

But Rouge stopped him with a kiss.

Knuckles normally would have pulled away, but instead, wrapped her in a warm hug, and closing their eyes. Neither of them noticed the excited cheers from the 'crowd.'

"We did it!" Tails exclaimed, overjoyed that his plan had worked.

Sonic watched the couple with a huge grin. "Somtimes love, just needs a little push."
